Tiki Underground version 2.0: the TU2 buildout and design

presenter: Doktor Bill Lynn

1:00PM - 2:00PM - Sandbar Room

The story of the build of the new Tiki Underground is a fun story about an artist who hosted rowdy monthly life drawing events, and how from that he joined a surf rock band and through marketing that venture, he met the owners of a “soon to be” Northeast Ohio Tiki Bar. Tiki Underground triggered an almost repressed childhood love of tiki within Dr. Bill. He then proceeded to convince Sean and Jessie Coffey that he was not just a drummer, but an artist with a passion for both primitive artforms and those used in Hollywood! Having created a focal point in the form of a stone skull fountain that looked to be straight off the set of Indiana Jones for the original TU, The Coffeys were quick to have Dr. Bill dive into the newly acquired bar and design and build out the full aesthetic of the new Tiki Underground. Bill will display a photo slideshow that will take the attendees on the journey of transforming an Irish Pub into a full shipwreck tiki bar. While introducing many of the skills & techniques applied and sharing a few of the lessons learned.
