Every rum has a story so good you can taste it. Join spirit writer and host Paul Senft Friday at 3:30 for a special charity experience supporting The Giving Kitchen. A local charity that supports the food service industry with emergency financial support and community resources. In 2015 the Chaffins' lost their dear friend Les Goodwin after almost a year long struggle with his heart; the Giving Kitchen helped support Les and Kathryn Chaffin during that year, and have helped many other service industry workers. Donations are $55 dollars per person for this once in a lifetime rum symposium.
Paul Senft is one of the most passionate people you will meet in the spirits industry. His exploration of history, rum, and all things Tiki led him to eventually founding RumJourney.com. This exploration led him and his wife to travel the Caribbean, Central America, and across the United States visiting distilleries and studying firsthand how each one created their products- Beers, Whiskies, Bourbons,Vodka, Gin and Rum. During these travels he has met and exchanged knowledge with like-minded explorers and innovators in the industry. He took this knowledge to hone his craft as a writer and immersed himself even deeper into the studies of rum, earning multiple certifications. Never satisfied, he is always looking for the next experience that will help him learn more about this noble spirit.

Learn how to create a dynamic, balanced landscape of organic, edible, and otherwise (umbrellas, swizzles, etc) adornments to cultivate a cocktail that's as eye catching as it is delicious. My teammate and I would love to share the creativity, innovation, and fun that goes into topping off a cocktail from the simple, yet effective, to the downright absurd and imaginative. We would offer tips and tricks to specific fruits, etc as well as the 'philosophy' behind how we go about finding unique and intricate garnishes for each cocktail we produce!

Students will create their own cinematic-quality trophy skull replicas inspired by tribal and tiki design elements. This workshop covers every step from detailing the skull base to achieving lifelike surface textures, bone coloration, and ceremonial embellishments.
Using cast skulls or resin blanks, participants will carve, distress, and paint each piece to appear authentically aged and ritual-worn. They’ll learn the layering process for realistic patina, weathering, and staining effects, along with the safe use of epoxies, fillers, and scenic compounds for structural or decorative modification.
The final stage focuses on creative finishing—adding tusks, shells, jute, beads, or carved patterns—to develop a unique narrative relic that looks museum-grade. Lighting, display mounting, and protection finishes will also be discussed.
The completed skulls will look like true ceremonial artifacts—built for realism, durability, and theatrical impact.
